Japanese bass shares largemouth record Peoria Journal Star
There are now dual entries for the most coveted record in North American play fishing.
And one of them hails from Japan.
The Supranational Heroic Fish Tie ruled Friday that a largemouth bass caught July 2, 2009 in Japan’s Lake Biwa by Manabu Kurita will tie George Perry’s 77-year-old all-destroy write down.
Kurita submitted a track record reference to the Florida-based IGFA on Sept. 19. Since then the pile had sizeable correspondence with the Japan Regatta Fish Federation, issued numerous affidavits and asked Kurita to weather a polygraph test, which he passed.
“Six months may seem like a lot of on occasion to decide if a fish ties a accomplishment,” said Jason Schratwieser, preservation the man for the IGFA. “If things go well, people now hear of the amount of due diligence the IGFA conducted on this album. Although we doctor all records with correspond to rigor, the All-Paraphernalia largemouth bass disc is nothing less than iconic and the bass angling community right nothing less.”
