Anyone have the Quantum Burst baitcasting reel?
Have any advice on how to use it. I just got it.
you should not have bought that reel the gear ratio is to low... way to reel for an hour!
Whats the best line for a baitcasting reel, fishing for pike and bass?
I am highly new to using a baitcasting reel. I have a Quantum Burst 6.3.1 gear ratio reel. And a quantum medium-heavy rod. What line should i use for less birdsnests? Mono or braided what gets tangles less? What helps in less line lossed dude to the teeth in the Northern pike?
I like Braided line and i use the highest recommended for your rod. I use 15 pound test on my Abu Garcia baitcaster.
I use 10 lb mono on my baitcaster. It has worked just fine for me.

14lb. braid I like the spider wire. Braid has a smaller diameter for the lb. test strenght.

Several semi pro's have told me they began in there back yard. They would let out an amount of line that looked like the average cast, then put tape on the spool, then real in the line. This help prevent backlashes until you get a feel for casting. If you were to backlash, it's alot easier and quicker getting them untangled. As you get better, take the tape off and have at it. Just a suggestion I received from some tournament anglers.
