i bought an abu garcia black max [ hte new model] lowprofile. baitcaster. im wondering bceause i usually only fish in lakes and freshwater. if i can also use this type of reel for saltwater fishes a as well?

yup, just rinse it really well when you are done. reel oil works good, but i use wd-40. yes i now it is illegal in most states to put on bait, but it works wonders on reels. gets the water out. plus, it's cheap.
as for the lures, i need more info, but a quick answer is live bait, shrimp, mullet, ect. of course, this depends on where you are fishing and what you are fishing for.
