you have to take the screws out, if your trying to replace the line. it's not that hard, but kinda hard for my to explain over the computer, sorry

In the past, I've taken spinning reels/spincast reels apart and NEVER once did they work perfectly afterwards, (and I pride myself on what an excellent "take-her-apart" person I am!). (lol)

If your Abumatic is "die-ing", go buy another one. They truly aren't THAT expensive and you may want to change "brands", IE: Daiwa !
